Not just for ourselves but for our households too. Cleaning our homes with just regular vacuuming is sometimes not enough. As we are afraid to get infected by viruses, here are some tips that we have to keep your family safe.

 

 

Personal Hygiene

Cleanliness starts at yourself, make sure to wash your hands from time to time. When we go outside our homes viruses come with us and we might bring them home. Simple hygiene measures can help protect your family’s health.

 

  • wash your hands with soap by at least 20-30 seconds from time to time.
  • Alcohol can be placed in receiving area of the house. Whenever you came home or if you have visitors, they can be disinfected before coming inside.
  • Whenever coming home, changing clothes is necessary. It should be placed on laundry baskets immediately to avoid spreading outside germs.

 

Clean Regularly

It is a very important precaution to lower the risk of virus infection. Cleaning regularly is an effective way to avoid spreading viruses.

 

  • When cleaning use gloves and a mask especially if you’re using cleaning products with high chemicals that might harm your health. Follow the instruction on how to use it and make sure you have good ventilation.
  • Don’t forget to disinfect those common-touch areas, such as door handles, chairs, tables, faucets, etc.
  • Make sure disinfectants are safely labeled and use for their purpose so they can be used properly by other people in the house and avoid accidents.
  • When cleaning regularly, waste should be separated. It will help other people to identify wastes that are harmful (such as used masks, gloves, etc).

Laundry Regularly

Viruses and germs can spread on sheets like curtains, throw pillows, bed sheets, towels, and our clothes.

  • Avoid shaking dirty laundry as this may disperse germs and viruses into the air
  • Wash laundry items with detergent and warm water and dry them completely as this will help to kill viruses. you can also add laundry bleach for extra measure.
  • Always wash your hands with soap and water, and/or use an alcohol-based hand rub, immediately afterward.
  • Wash and/or disinfect your laundry bag and hamper as well. Consider storing laundry in disposable bags.

Food Safety

Foods mostly store in our refrigerator. For food safety, it is very important to clean and disinfect our fridges regularly. After buying stocks for the groceries, Make sure to follow these food packaging and handling precautions.

 

  • Wash your hands with soap and water before handling food items.
  • Remove any unnecessary packaging and dispose into a waste bin with a lid. It can be placed in reusable containers to keep it organized.
  • Remove food from take-out containers, place on a clean plate, and dispose of the container.
  • Packaging like cans can be wiped clean with a disinfectant before being stored or opened
  • Wash unpackaged produce, such as fruit, vegetables, and meat, thoroughly under running water.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand rub, immediately afterward.
