Tips For Removing Coffee Stains

Coffee. Most people can’t complete their day without it. However, a small spill from this energizing drink can ruin anyone’s day. 

Coffee stains are difficult to clean, which is why homeowners get ballistic when they find them on fabrics and fragile materials that make cleaning difficult. 

Fortunately, there are a lot of ways you can deal with coffee stains on any material without having to throw a fit.

Clothing

Coffee can be a great way to start your day until it spills and ruins your favorite shirt. 

First, it may be best that you blot out as much coffee as you can with a dry cloth to remove excess stains. When you’re done with that, soak the affected area with detergent and vinegar before finally washing it all away with warm water. 

Furniture 

When your furniture is stained with coffee it should be dealt with as soon as possible before the stain settles permanently.

Dab a paper towel on the affected area as soon as possible. If you like your coffee black, then you might as well dampen a sponge with liquid detergent or vinegar. Gently scrub the stain using the solution until it’s gone.

Carpets

It’s common to spill some coffee on your carpet, but what if you spilled an entire cup?

Remember, it’s important to blot out as much of the spill as you can with paper towels before it spreads. Cleaning out the rest can be as simple as using a clean cloth dipped in a mixture of warm water, dish soap, or vinegar.

Additionally, you could sprinkle a bit of baking soda on the carpet to remove the lingering scent of dark roast. 

Floors

Drops of dark liquid pouring onto a shiny, often bright-colored flooring is a mess you probably don’t need in your home. 

Cleaning hardwood floors, for example, can be done by using a mix of baking soda and vinegar. Dab the solution on the affected area and leave it there for a while before rinsing it out with warm water and drying it with a cloth. This should help erase the stain and eliminate any lingering odors.
